2017 Dream Run

In 2015, BKMC 17th chose to use our annual fundraising event to benefit the Shriners' Hospitals for Children©. Since 1922 the Shriners Hospitals system has offered high levels of specialized care (burns, orthopedics, and spinal cord injuries) to children. Each year thousands of children are treated at absolutely no cost to the families.

The choice to make the Shriners Hospitals the beneficiary of our event was clear, one of our Chapter brothers' child was a recipient of this specialized care, and we consider the Shriners to be a local charity, just 64 miles up the road. In fact, the first hospital dedicated in 1922 for the Shriners Healthcare System was in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Our rally, called the Dream Run, hosts an escorted ride, offers auctions and raffles, and provides individuals and businesses opportunities to participate through donations and sponsorships. Fueled by our "rolling wings for healing dreams", the funds raised through our Dream Run event help the Shriners Hospitals maintain their no-cost care policy.

The event name says it all it is our dream that no child will ever have to suffer and go without the specialized medical care needed because of the high costs typically associated with this care.
