Chapter 42 Makes Donation to Panhandle Children's Foundation

Members of BKMC Chapter 42 were able to make another donation to the Panhandle Children's Foundation, Inc following their efforts at the 2024 Hogs on the Point fundraiser. This makes the 2nd year that Chapter 42 has had the pleasure of attending and helping with this event. BKMC 42 assists the PCFI with the children's BBQ cook-off by starting and tending to the fires- a job perfectly suited to a club made-up of firefighters.

The PCFI was founded in 2003 and provided financial aid to disabled, disadvantaged, and ill children across the Texas Panhandle. The services they provide are funded exclusively from donations by sponsors, individuals and various fundraising efforts. Examples of things these funds will provide include: durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc), feeding supplies, travel costs and hotel costs for hospital visits, and school supply drives.

In 2007, the PCFI was gifted a 60-acre retreat, Talon Point located just outside Dumas, TX that they use to facilitate special camps for disadvanted and disabled children.

Christmas Miracles In the Appalachians!

In a rather dramatic fashion, Chapter 27 is blessed to have the opportunity to leap in when most needed this Christmas- and it wasn't intentional!

The host of Camp Appalachia received calls about families in need of support to share in the festive cheer of the Christmas season this week, and as they always do, they accepted this challange before they knew how they'd ever fund the endeavor. In a twist that can only be attributed to intervention from On High, Chapter 27 President, J-rod, happened to be the next phone call the host of Camp received with one question.... "When can I bring you this check from the money we raised for you this year?"

Pres J-rod delivered a check for $2,300 which will help bring some festivity to families in the Kanahwa Valley in need of some love from their community this Christmas season.

In keeping with the spirit of the Holiday season, miracles triumph over desperation!
